The opportunity

24-month contract (January 2026 Start)

As a contributing member of the Global Investment Strategy (GIS) team you will play a role on the corporate strategy team for Ontario Teachers' - an enterprise which, at its core, is a business investing capital for its members. The role entails helping the organization make strategic choices through enhancing our awareness of our competitive and business environments, formulating, activating and enabling strategy and building strategic relationships. It is an important role in a small, dynamic team which is helping a leading investment organization navigate a complex environment undergoing significant disruption.

Who you’ll work with

Based in Toronto, you will be joining as a member of the Global Investment Strategy team, which is part of the Strategy & Stakeholder Relations Division. You will work closely with your GIS colleagues in Toronto and Asia to help further key strategic priorities and relationships. You will have a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with corporate functions and investment professionals across all asset classes and regions to gain a truly global and holistic perspective of Ontario Teachers’.

What you’ll do

  • Support GIS team members in developing recommendations and implementation plans for fund-wide strategic initiatives
  • Organize research findings, perform data analysis, synthesize and convey results in presentation and pre-read material for senior GIS team members and other senior internal or external audiences
  • Distill complex concepts into simple to understand and concise presentation materials for the Fund’s senior leadership
  • Support your GIS colleagues as they engage with various asset classes/regions and functional partners to gather input to support strategic initiatives and solicit feedback
  • Support the senior GIS team’s development, cultivation, and coordination of key internal and external relationships for the Fund
  • Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of our team, including championing our use of AI to fulfill our responsibilities

What you’ll need

  • Undergraduate degree; degree in economics, business, technology or global affairs
  • Up to 1 year of relevant internship/work experience at an investment bank, management consulting firm, pension plan, asset manager, or private equity/hedge fund an asset
  • Keen interest in, and understanding of, the investment industry, global politics, economic affairs, and strategy development
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong presentation capabilities and facility with AI-based tools
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and ability to perform in-depth, critical analysis
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, self-start, and perform effectively in a collaborative and dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and build relationships
