Job summary

The Burnaby School District is seeking a Temporary Early Learning Facilitator to support the StrongStart BC Early Learning Centre in Burnaby. The role oversees day-to-day operations and creates a play-based environment where parents participate with their children.

Applicants must have Grade 12, a recognized Early Childhood Education certificate, a BC ECE license, First Aid, Food Safe, and 3 years of relevant experience in parent-participation programs.

Early Learning Facilitator (Temporary)

As one of the largest, most progressive, urban districts in the province, Burnaby provides comprehensive educational programs and services to 41 elementary and 8 secondary schools, plus a number of additional facilities. The Burnaby School District is seeking a Temporary Early Learning Facilitator to work in one of our StrongStart Centres. The Early Learning Facilitator oversees the day-to-day operations for the StrongStart BC Early Learning Centre and ensures that the goals and objectives of the program are met. This position is responsible for creating and facilitating a program environment where parents and caregivers participate alongside their children in interactive, play-based age-appropriate learning.

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12
• Completion of recognized certificate program in Early Childhood Education
• 3 years relevant work experience in a parent participation early learning program
• Current BC Early Childhood Education license
• Current Child Safe First Aid Certificate
• Valid Food Safe Certificate

This position pays $37.98 per hour, complemented by a benefits package which includes dental, extended health benefits, and vacation pay.

This position is temporary to June 4, 2027. The StrongStart Centre is open 20 hours/week – 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and is in an elementary school in Burnaby.

The successful applicant is required to sign a “Consent for Criminal Record” to permit a criminal record review.
