Job description

Under the supervision of the Director of Treatment & Recovery Services, the Early Intervention & Aftercare Worker provides mental health and addictions counselling to clients, including substance abuse assessments, pre-treatment activities, and aftercare and relapse prevention activities.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Facilitating pre-treatment services and counselling to clients requiring residential treatment or with concurrent disorders.
  2. Providing aftercare, awareness and relapse prevention education and information to individuals, their families and the overall community.
  3. Coordinating intake and assessment services.
  4. Promoting healthy lifestyles within the First Nation community by sharing information, liaising activities, promoting programming and other services of early intervention, aftercare and relapse prevention.
  5. Facilitating or attending group sessions, including youth/elder, recovery and family groups.
  6. Preparing accurate case and progress notes and reports and attending case reviews.
