Job summary

A leading childcare organization in Maple Ridge is seeking an experienced early childhood supervisor to develop and implement programs that support children's development. The ideal candidate will lead activities and supervise other educators. A college diploma and relevant experience are required. This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $36.60 per hour with a permanent position.

Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of experience working with children.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal record check.
  • Ability to observe and report on children's development.

Responsibilities

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Tasks: Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor. Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children. Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Personal suitability: Flexibility.
