The CDI, Early Learning Centre is seeking six (6) knowledgeable and competent Supply Registered Early Childhood Educators to join our ELC Team. This is a supply staff position with weekly hours scheduled on an as-needed basis. It is an on-site, daytime role, working Monday to Friday, with shifts that may vary between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Shift and room assignments are based on Centre needs and may change as necessary. Candidates must be willing to work with all age groups and demonstrate flexibility to accommodate operational requirements. As a supply worker, you may also be required to travel to various offices of the Agency or its affiliates from time to time as part of your duties.
As our new Early Childhood Educator, you will:
- Supervise children in a safe and healthy environment
- Update children’s attendance throughout the day
- Conduct headcounts during indoors and outdoors transitions
- Provide team leadership professionally and positively
- Observe and document children’s interactions and responses
- Develop and implement engaging, stimulating, and challenging programs
- Review your program’s reflection of the Four Foundations of Learning and Development and AQI requirements
- Work with Resource Consultants for children with special needs
- Set up developmentally appropriate learning environments
- Establish daily routines and schedules
- Maintain positive relationships with families and provide feedback
- Create community engagement opportunities
- Follow behavior guidance policies
- Conduct parent interviews as needed
- Handle opening and closing of the Centre
- May act as ‘In-Charge’ when the Director is off-site
- Administer medication responsibly
- Supervise post-secondary ECE students
- Maintain records and documentation as required by policies
- Participate in supervision and pursue professional development
- Contribute to housekeeping duties
- Report signs of child abuse to Children’s Aid Society
- Inform the Director of illnesses, injuries, and absences
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Degree/Diploma
- Registered member (in good standing) of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Knowledge of CCEYA, AQI, HDLH, ELECT
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate

Compensation: $24.51 per hour
