Job summary

Conestoga College invites applications for a full-time Early Childhood Educator (ECE) at the Doon campus in Kitchener. The successful candidate will plan and implement high-quality early learning programs, support ECE students, and uphold CCEYA guidelines.

You must hold a two-year ECE diploma, be CECE in good standing, and have experience in licensed childcare. The role requires on-site work Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) required.
• CECE membership in good standing required (Ontario).
• Experience in licensed childcare settings, preferably with ECE student placements.
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification required.
• Completion of a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check required.
• Immunization requirements must be met.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work creatively, flexibly, and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and adapt high-quality early learning programs aligned with the Regional Early Years Engage Framework and best practices.
• Create inclusive, engaging learning environments responsive to children and families.
• Facilitate child-centred, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Observe, assess, and document children’s learning using appropriate tools.
• Identify and initiate referrals to additional resource supports when needed.
• Complete required documentation, records, and reports in a timely manner.
• Mentor ECE students through teaching practices and feedback.
• Collaborate across classroom, centre, and academic program teams.
• Report incidents, concerns, and schedule changes to the supervisor.
