Developmental Disabilities Association has an immediate opening for an Early Childhood Educator in our Early Learning and Youth Services programs. We seek candidates with a positive attitude, completed ECE certification, and at least one year of experience in the field. We support professional development, provide on-the-job training, and foster an inclusive work environment.   • Location: Berwick Child Development Centre
  • Start Date: June 09, 2025
  • Term/Status: Permanent Part-Time
  • Schedule/Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-14:30 (30 hours/week)
  • Hourly Wage: $28.25 (as per collective agreement; DDA is a CSSEA employer paying JJEP rates; WE funding not above ECE wages)
The Role

The ECE provides an enriched program tailored to community needs, facilitating interactions for children with typical and special needs daily. The ECE collaborates with the Manager to ensure children’s needs are met.

Education & Experience
  • Completion of BC Early Childhood Education 5-Year Certification
  • Special Needs Certification (asset)
  • Related training in children with special needs (asset)
  • Minimum 1 year experience with preschool children
  • Experience with functional assessment, program design, and evaluation for children with special needs
  • Experience in Behavior Management
Requirements
  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Valid First Aid/CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication
  • Basic computer skills
