The Lead Early Childhood Educator (ECE) will take a leadership role in working cooperatively with all staff, parents, and community-based professionals and service providers to introduce children into the culture of the school in a way that supports everyone's learning experience. With thorough knowledge of early childhood development and best practices that support early learning and care, the Lead ECE will prepare a learning environment that is both stimulating and responsive to children's interests and developmental capabilities. Continuous observation will help develop and plan programs ensuring children have an environment to imagine, explore, and create, understanding and responding to their learning needs. The Lead ECE will work as a member of the school team and report directly to the Supervisor, Pre-Primary Program.

Rate of Pay :
This is a 10-month position with a work schedule in accordance with the school year calendar, including time off at Christmas, March Break, and Summer break.
The starting annual salary is $52,878.14, paid across 12 months (August 1st to July 31st) for working a 10-month school year. ECEs are paid every two weeks.
The annual salary for term positions less than a school year is pro-rated over the length of the term.
Hours of Work :
Lead ECEs work 7.5 hours per day (including a ½ hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute paid breaks), Monday through Friday.
