Northeastern Catholic District School Board seeks a 1.0 Designated Early Childhood Educator for French Immersion at St. Patrick School in Kapuskasing. This permanent full-time role offers a 32.5-hour week with certified and uncertified pay scales and effective immediately.

The ECE will collaborate with Kindergarten teachers to plan and deliver developmentally appropriate programming across physical, cognitive, language, emotional, social and creative domains, in a bilingual setting.

Competenze

• Two-year ECE Diploma and registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
• 1–3 years childcare/educational experience.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Education full-day ECE program and related legislation.
• Ability to communicate with children, parents, staff and the public.
• Commitment to confidentiality.
• Ability to manage classroom behaviour and emergencies.
• Experience planning emergent, play-based and child-driven environments.
• Basic computer skills, strong organizing and time management.
• Stand/walk for extended periods and assist children physically.
• Bilingual English and French.
• Catholic Pastoral reference required.

Certified Rate: $24.14-$31.61/hour - Uncertified Rate: $22.31/hour

The NCDSB Early Childhood Educators are school based professionals who collaborate with Kindergarten teachers to plan and deliver high quality early years programming that promotes each child's physical, cognitive, language, emotional, social and creative development and well-being. In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator (ECE) share the responsibility to work together to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate educational program for Kindergarten aged children.

Qualifications

• Two-year ECE Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting;
• Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation;
• Proven ability, experience and skill in working as a member of a team;
• Proven ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the public;
• Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality;
• Proven ability to effectively manage classroom behavioural concerns, and emergency situations;
• Experience planning and implementing emergent curriculum, play-based and child-driven environments;
• Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program, and must be able to physically assist children as required (e.g. lifting);
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and French; and
• A Catholic Pastoral reference is required.
