POSITION TYPE: FULL-TIME

Background: The Ma Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc. is seeking an individual for the position of Early Childhood Educator II. All applicants must have certification as an ECE II from the Child Daycare Office. Our Centre is a licensed facility with 20 daycare spaces for infants and toddlers ages 3 months to 2 years old. ECE II staff provides a holistic program that cares for and nurtures our children's spirits, intellect, and social and physical well-being. The position is full-time and permanent, with excellent benefits, pension, additional center holidays, and paid planning/meeting time.

Qualifications:

  1. Must have Early Childhood Educator II certification.
  2. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
  3. Ability to plan and implement daily activities for children 1 to 2 years of age.
  4. Strong communication skills for use with staff and parents.
  5. Strong infant guiding skills.
  6. Ability to maintain the health and safety of the children and environment.
  7. Must be willing to work as a team member.
  8. Ability to follow the philosophy of the Child Development Centre program.
  9. Ability to work under stressful situations.
  10. A clear criminal record check (with Vulnerable Sector Query), child abuse registry check, and a prior contact check are mandatory prior to starting the position and must be submitted with your application.
