Job summary

Sandbox Early Learning in British Columbia is seeking a dedicated daycare assistant to support educators in delivering developmentally appropriate activities. You will help maintain equipment, organize spaces, and assist with meals, crafts and observed progress discussions.

The role requires a secondary diploma and ECE Level 1, plus First Aid and CPR certifications, and is strictly on-site. Applicants should be prepared to work at the physical location and participate in ongoing health, safety

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate required.
• ECE level 1 certificate required.
• First Aid and CPR certificates are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daycare equipment.
• Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
• Order supplies and equipment.
• Encourage children to express creativity through art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
• Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor.
• Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings.
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects health, security and well-being of children.
