Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Assess children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Lead activities such as storytelling, singing, and outings to local points of interest.
  • Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits.
  • Observe children for signs of learning or behavioral issues and report findings to parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
  • Plan and maintain a safe and healthy environment for children.
  • Organize activities for school-age children before and after school hours.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants.
