Job summary

Kibbi in Burnaby, BC is seeking an early childhood educator to assess development and deliver personalized learning plans at our on-site location. You will design activities that support growth across physical, cognitive, emotional and social domains.

You will lead engaging group activities, nurture creativity through art, music and storytelling, and guide children in daily routines while coordinating with junior staff and reporting progress to families.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience as an early childhood educator.

Responsibilities

• Assess the children’s development to prepare a learning plan tailored to each child’s needs.
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
• Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate information to parents.
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest.
• Encourage children to express creativity through art, drama, music and physical activity.
• Guide and assist children in eating, dressing and toilet habits.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents or supervisor.
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects health, safety and well-being of children.
• Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
