About the Role

DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is seeking qualified candidates for a regular, part-time Early Childhood Educator position. Reporting to the Manager Women, Families, and Community Health, the educator provides a caring and positive learning environment for children. Responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering daily early childhood educational activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, carry out, and evaluate developmentally appropriate activities for children.
  • Identify abilities, interests, and needs of children and develop individualized and group curriculum.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy, and emotionally supportive environment.
  • Develop daily program schedules including indoor/outdoor and active/quiet activities.
  • Prepare materials, maintain equipment cleanliness, and ensure hygiene and safety.
  • Administer first aid when necessary and follow discipline guidelines.
  • Report suspected child abuse and adhere to organizational policies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and provide parenting support and workshops.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education.
  • Two years’ experience in a childcare environment.
  • Early Childhood Educator license.
  • Sensitivity to children's needs and multicultural experience.
  • Teamwork skills, First Aid certification, TB clearance.
