Job summary

The University of Melbourne seeks a Diploma-qualified Educator to design and deliver high-quality early childhood programs for children aged three months to five years, across inclusive, responsive learning environments.

You will mentor educators, strengthen relationships with families and colleagues, and contribute to centre improvement while ensuring documentation, assessment and compliance with EYLF and National Quality Standards.

Your next career opportunity

In this Diploma-qualified Educator role, you will design and deliver high-quality programs for children.

You will support children aged three months to five years across inclusive, responsive learning environments.

You will also contribute to centre improvement, mentor educators, and strengthen relationships with families and colleagues.

What you will deliver:
  • Design and implement inclusive, play-based programs aligned with the EYLF and National Quality Framework.
  • Observe, document and assess children's learning, using professional records to inform planning and evaluation.
  • Create safe, engaging learning environments, supervising children and meeting their wellbeing and care needs.
  • Collaborate with educators and leaders to reflect on pedagogy and improve teaching practice and outcomes.
  • Build respectful, inclusive relationships with families and colleagues, sharing information and advising centre management.
You may be a great fit if you:
  • Hold an ACECQA-approved Diploma qualification and a current Employee Working with Children Check.
  • Bring at least two years' experience in early childhood education within regulated centre-based services.
  • Demonstrate ability to design, implement and evaluate programs aligned with EYLF and National Quality Standards.
  • Supervise and mentor educators or students, identifying strengths and improvement areas within your room.
  • Apply detailed knowledge of relevant early childhood legislation, frameworks, child safety standards and food safety requirements.
  • Use strong IT and communication skills to maintain documentation and collaborate effectively with families and colleagues.
