Job summary

BGC Okanagan is hiring an Early Childhood Educator Assistant for the Hudson Road Daycare in West Kelowna. You will support planning and delivering age-appropriate programs, assist with daily routines, and promote safe, inclusive learning experiences for children.

The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing professional development, and a caring environment. Hours are 25 per week, with a competitive hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Qualifications

• ECEA certificate required.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Criminal record check via agency screening required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and carrying out developmentally appropriate activities (indoor/outdoor, active/quiet, group/individual).
• Support children with daily needs including feeding, toileting and rest.
• Model positive behaviour and supervise/guide children to encourage learning and safety.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and report repairs or concerns.
• Administer first aid as per policy and maintain accurate records.
• Establish open communication with parents/guardians.
