Job summary

BGC Central Vancouver Island is seeking a Part-Time Early Childhood Educator Assistant in Comox, BC. You will support children birth to 5 in a safe, inclusive environment, assisting with activities and routines while coordinating with experienced ECEs.

This role offers a consistent weekday schedule for families and staff. You'll contribute to BGCCVI standards, participate in ongoing training, and help foster positive relationships with children and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Approved ECEA Certification through the Early Childhood Registry of BC.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certificate (CCFL approved).
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Early Childhood Educator Assistant (Part-Time)

About the Role

As a Part-Time ECEA, you are a foundational member of our childcare team. You'll work alongside experienced ECEs to create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where children can play, learn, and grow. How You'll Contribute

• Team Collaboration: Work as a key member of an integrated team that prioritizes inclusion, excellence, and positive conflict resolution.

• Engaging Activities: Help carry out and evaluate developmentally appropriate experiences for children, using modeling and questioning to spark curiosity.

• Daily Support: Follow program schedules that balance indoor/outdoor play and group/individual activities according to BGCCVI standards.

• Safety First: Maintain constant supervision and ensure all children are engaged in safe, age-appropriate activities.

• Care & Routine: Attend to the physical needs of children (including diapering, toileting, and nutrition) with empathy and professionalism.

• Clear Communication: Help maintain accurate records, including daily attendance and communication logs, to keep our programs running smoothly.

What You Bring

• Certification: Approved ECEA Certification through the Early Childhood Registry of B.C.

• Safety: Valid First Aid/CPR certificate (CCFL approved).

• Reliability: A valid Driver's License and a commitment to a consistent Monday-Friday schedule.

• Experience: Previous experience in a licensed childcare facility is preferred, along with a passion for working with children birth to 5 years.

• Eligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
