Early Childhood Educator Assistant

Locations: Kelowna, BC (Rutland Club)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities.
• Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
• Monitor, guide and assist children in daily activities.
• Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
• Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills.
• Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
• Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
• Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
• Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents / guardians.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain

Hours

28 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 – 2:00
