Overview

Assist Early Childhood Educators with children in a developmental classroom. Act as a caregiver for assigned children.

Starting Pay Rate: $20/hr

Responsibilities

  • Assist Early Childhood Educators with children in a developmentally appropriate and inclusive educational curriculum, following Head Start Performance Standards, policies, procedures, and ESSC standards of conduct.
  • Provide support for children with atypical behavior and those with special needs.
  • Serve as caregiver for each assigned child throughout their enrollment.
  • Ensure the safety of children with disabilities and/or atypical behavior.
  • Conduct classroom housekeeping duties and maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience in preschool or infant/toddler classroom teaching.
  • Possession of pediatric CPR and First Aid certificates.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow regulations and policies of relevant authorities and ESSC.
  • Sound judgment, planning, and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of infant and toddler development and safety issues.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and perform manual tasks.
  • Ability to pass medical and tuberculosis tests and obtain fingerprint clearance.
