Job summary

Today’s Family is seeking a Registered Early Childhood Educator to join the JW. Boich team at the Brant Hills Child Care Location. This permanent, part-time role invites you to contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment where children explore and grow through play.

The ideal candidate will hold a Diploma/degree in ECE, be in good standing, and bring knowledge of CCEYA and How Does Learning Happen? to support diverse programming and meaningful family partnerships.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education.
• Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
• Knowledge of How Does Learning Happen?.
• Experience working with children in a child care setting.
• Record of up-to-date immunizations (TB, Tetanus, Polio, MMR).
• Registered ECE in good standing.
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check (last 6 months).

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with children to co-create experiences and explore their interests.
• Offer dynamic, diverse programming supporting well-being, engagement, and expression.
• Explore diverse early learning approaches (Reggio-Emilia, play-/project-based learning, outdoor education, arts-based learning, HIGH Five, Positive Youth Development).
• Facilitate belonging by creating welcoming, safe environments for children and families.
• Build strong family partnerships through meaningful communication and family engagement events.
• Align with Ontario’s emergent curriculum and How Does Learning Happen? pedagogical philosophy.

Education

Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education

CCEYA knowledge

How Does Learning Happen? knowledge

Experience with children in a child care setting

Immunization records up to date

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with children as our partners to co-create experiences to investigate, explore, and amplify their interests.
• Offer dynamic, diverse, and unique programming that supports the well-being, engagement, and expression of children.
• Consider and explore a wide variety of approaches to early learning, including Reggio-Emilia Approach, Play-based and Project-based Learning, Outdoor Education, Arts-based Learning, HIGH Five Principles of Healthy Child Development, Positive Youth Development, among other evidence-based approaches and practices.
• Facilitate belonging for children and families by creating welcoming, accepting, and safe environments for children and families to learn and play.
• Work collaboratively to build strong family partnerships in our communities through meaningful communication, facilitation of events and opportunities to involve and engage families in our work.
• Be innovative in their approach to alignment with Ontario’s emergent curriculum and guiding pedagogical philosophy, ‘How Does Learning Happen?’
