Job summary

Hatch in Calgary, Alberta is seeking a dynamic Control and Automation Engineer-in-Training who is graduating in 2027 or has just graduated with an Electrical or Chemical Engineering degree. You will support global projects, work with PLC/DCS, instrumentation and control design, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

This role offers mentorship, hands-on project experience, travel to sites, and a path to professional development within Hatch's Project Delivery Group.

Qualifications

• Must be graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with an engineering degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering.
• Strong interest in control systems and communication systems is a plus.
• Co-op or work terms in controls, automation and electrical design are assets.

Responsibilities

• Prepare control and automation deliverables (P&IDs, control philosophies, I/O lists).
• Program using PLC/DCS per project requirements.
• Support design reviews, site inspections, and travel to project sites.
