Commercial Insurance Manager – SBU Division

Location: 290 Rowntree Dairy Road., Woodbridge, ON

Full-Time | Onsite (5 Days/Week) | 5+ Years Commercial Lines Experience

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Insurance Manager to lead our Small Business Unit (SBU) Division. If you are passionate about commercial insurance, leadership, and operational excellence, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and workflows of the SBU Commercial Insurance team
  • Lead and support the SBU Commercial Insurance team with a focus on performance and client service
  • Provide coaching and development to team members to promote growth and effectiveness
  • Review and oversee the commercial portfolio, ensuring risk quality and underwriting compliance
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with insurance carriers
  • Collaborate with internal departments to maintain operational consistency and service standards
  • Support the team in complex risk placements and account management
  • Monitor team performance, workflows, and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance on complex risks and placements, especially within Small Business
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of Commercial Lines insurance experience
  • Previous people leadership experience, including coaching and team development
  • Experience with Small Business commercial insurance
  • Commercial Lines underwriting experience (an asset)
  • Strong understanding and ability to digest commercial insurance wording
  • Proven ability to manage insurer relationships effectively
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working onsite 5 days a week
  • CIP designation (completed or in progress)
  • RIBO license (or the ability to obtain)
