A leading company in the food industry is seeking a Transportation Operations Manager to lead the CA based Transportation Operations team. This role involves managing daily business activities, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring service levels are met. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics and transportation, with a focus on continuous improvement and team leadership.
This position is directly responsible for leading the CA based Transportation Operations team through daily business activities and continuous improvement opportunities. This role ensures that both immediate and short-term operational requirements of the CA Transportation network and North American rail operations are being met by partnering with carriers, 3PL and McCain facility DCs, McCain Customer Service and Deployment teams. This role is responsible for balancing McCain CA Transportation budgeted freight spend against delivering to our business target service level/KPI. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the long-term strategy for rail operations.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Requirements:
o Bachelors degree in Business, Logistics, Finance, or Supply Chain or applicable field coupled with experience in Logistics and/or Supply Chain
o Masters/advanced degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or related and applicable field
Related Work Experience (Internal to the organization or external):
o Minimum of three to five years Logistics/Transportation experience required
o Prior supervisory experience required
o Experience in Warehousing, Dispatch, WMS/TMS, 4Kites, Dock Scheduling and/or Finance role
o Experience in frozen food storage & distribution industry
Working Relationships and Key Contacts:
1 Customer Service Manager: Ensure servicing of McCain managed freight to align carrier delivery to RDD and on time appt.
2 Supply Chain Planning and Deployment Managers: Ensure proper daily utilization of established DC level dock appts and carrier capacity to cover STO for servicing business requirements.
3 ISC Finance Manager: Partner on reporting and understanding financial impact resulting from business and team decisions related to freight and warehousing spend.
1 Carrier Partners: Resolve escalated transportation related issues. Forge mutual partnership by adhering to awarded volume through routing guide adherence.
2 3PL and internal Whse Partners: Coordinate efforts with 3PL operations team re: dock appt availability to accommodate carrier and service requirements to ensure scheduled outbound and inbound trucks stay on schedule.
3 Customers: Assist Customer Service team with problem solving as relates to deliveries.

Compensation Package: $97,500.00 - $130,000.00 CAD annually + bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
