About the Opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for one (1), Outpatient Summer Studentto join our team in Toronto, ONon a Contract, full-time,basis (8-weeks).


Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with periodic work on evenings and weekends)


Wage: $17.20 per hour (plus 6% pay in lieu for Vacation)


Casey House is seeking one (1) student to support with administrative operations within the Outpatient Department. With the support of the Outpatient Program Assistant, the Summer Student will:



  • Review and organize paper archives of medical records and other hospital records

  • Calling patients to remind them about upcoming appointments

  • Sending and receiving faxes to/from other medical offices, pharmacies, etc.

  • Review and organize electronic medical records and assist with data migration activities

  • Support with other duties and other clinical projects as required (including data entry, inventory management, etc.)

  • Assisting with data entry and record keeping as needed

  • Organizing and maintaining office files and materials.

  • Uphold the upmost confidential information.


About You

The following qualifications will ensure your success in this role:



  • Knowledge of the health care environment and familiarity with medical/mental health terminology

  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Highly organized and with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Ability to accurately follow instructions

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Must be able to lift 20lbs

  • Experience with data entry is an asset

  • Experience in an administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting, is an asset

  • Knowledge of PHIPA and other applicable privacy regulations is an asset

  • Preference for students in nursing, health or data/informatics focused programs
