Qualifications

Job description

The Drumheller Hospital facility supports acute care beds primarily focused on rural general medicine in 36 acute care beds, as well as supporting 88 continuing care beds. The pharmacy team provides distribution and clinical services to acute care, continuing care, and emergency patients, with remote coverage support for sites in Central Zone South. The environment is supportive and multidisciplinary, allowing pharmacists to provide specialized and general medicine care as part of a collaborative team. The department is supported by pharmacy technicians and assistants working towards their full scope of practice to enable pharmacists to focus on clinical activities and patient engagement.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. Your duties include managing medication therapy, providing assessment, intervention, and resolution of drug-related problems, and overseeing compounding and packaging activities.

Qualifications:

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

  • Additional Prescribing Authorization (APA) from the Alberta College of Pharmacists is an asset; candidates without it are expected to obtain within 6 months, subject to eligibility.
  • Experience in hospital or direct patient care providing medication management.
  • Experience with computerized medication order entry and drug distribution systems such as unit dose.
  • Demonstrated self-directed learning, good time management, communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
