Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Culinary Operations, the Catering Director is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all operational aspects of catering and banquet events. The role involves ensuring smooth operations during events from planning to post-event feedback and follow-up. The Catering Director schedules and supervises event staff, designs menus, ensures availability of supplies and resources, manages logistics and works closely with the Catering & Events sales team and their clients to deliver an exceptional event experience.

  • Collaborating with sales, culinary, and banquet teams to deliver seamless event experiences.
  • Leading BEO meetings and ensuring flawless execution of event operations.
  • Hiring, training, and managing banquet staff to uphold high service standards.
  • Designing innovative and artistic menus in partnership with culinary leadership.
  • Overseeing event setups, breakdowns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Managing resources, budgets, and staffing to deliver cost-effective results.
  • Monitoring service quality, addressing issues promptly, and gathering client feedback.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and operational standards.

  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a Red Seal certified Executive Chef with FOH experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience of at least 5 years in catering, event management and/or as catering Chef with FOH and menu design experience.
  • Must be fully bilingual French & English (oral and written skills).
  • Excellent customer relations, communication and problem solving skills
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • A valid driver’s license is required
  • Must have current Food Safe Level 1 and Smart Serve certificates, as per provincial guidelines
  • Working Conditions:
    • Job requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
    • Flexibility and availability in schedule are required during the week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
    • Events occur both indoor and outdoor – incumbent must be prepared to work in all weather conditions.
    • Job will require the ability to safely bend, lift and move light objects (up to 15 lbs.)
