The Role in One Sentence

Own and streamline every digital system, from website publishing and email outreach to data flows and AI-powered automations, so Umbrex can deliver world-class content, member experiences, and client services delivery at startup speed.

What You’ll Do

Work with company leadership to help improve our tech stack, processes, and systems across our departments, including but not limited to : diagnosing areas of improvement, identifying new software, layering AI with existing software, and hiring and managing contractors for some process improvement components.

Website

  • Streamline and automate the web posting process of our Content Team
  • Manage WordPress (or a similar CMS) and continually improve site speed, Core Web Vitals, and internal linking
  • Conduct content analytics, keyword research, and SEO to increase web traffic
  • Implement heatmap tracking and conduct UX analysis to improve conversion rates

Email automation for recruiting and business development

  • Set up and optimize Instantly.ai cold-outreach domains, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, warm-up
  • Lead email A / B testing and analytics
  • Build and maintain lead-magnet delivery automations in Kit (formerly ConvertKit)

Company-Wide Process Automation

  • Map manual workflows, such as survey-to-CRM, lead-enrichment, podcast syndication, and deliver no-code or low-code solutions using Zapier, Make.com, n8n, or GPT-powered scripts.
  • Prototype lightweight Python or SQL jobs when no-code falls short, supervising freelance developers or data engineers for complex tasks.
  • Document processes and identify automation opportunities throughout the company
  • Manage GA4, Google Tag Manager, and Looker Studio dashboards : set up events, goals, and attribution models.
  • Deploy heat-map or session-recording tools (Hotjar, Clarity) and translate insights into conversion optimization tests.
  • Create unified marketing and member success KPIs, integrating data from multiple channels.

Implement AI solutions

  • Identify and implement AI tools to enhance our mission-driven services.

Leadership & Governance

  • Advise leadership on tech stack decisions, security, and vendor selection as Umbrex’s most technical voice.
  • Run quarterly automation audits to prioritize new opportunities and retire redundant tools.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement by celebrating the elimination of manual steps.

What You’ll Bring

  • Hands-on experience with MarTech and automation—integrating WordPress APIs, email authentication, Zapier, or Make scenarios that save hours.
  • Data fluency—querying, visualizing, and storytelling with metrics.
  • Curiosity about AI—experience with LLM APIs or low-code AI tools to streamline text-heavy tasks.
  • Team leadership—coaching junior implementers and translating technical ideas for non-technical colleagues.
  • Process obsession—creating SOPs, checklists, and Loom videos effortlessly.

Base salary (CAD) : C$145K – C$170K, with exact offer based on experience, skill depth, and location.

Performance bonus : up to 15% of base.
