Job description

Bright Owlets Childcare & Learning Centre is seeking a F/T Early Childhood Educator
  • Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
  • Wage: $26.00~$28.00/hour (depending on experience)
  • Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • 4% vacation pay
  • Great West Group Coverage
  • EI and Pension Contributions

Job Duties:

  • Develop childcare programs to promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • Plan activities by reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children on field trips of interest
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment for children
  • Evaluate the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • Detect the signs of potential learning or behavioural problems of children, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • Teach children to eat properly, dress, and appropriate toilet habits
  • Build good relationships with employees and community service providers working with children
  • Supervise and suggest activities for other early childhood educator assistants

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Experience is an asset
  • Education: College Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education is required
  • Certificates: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and E.C.E. Certificate
