Job description

Logoplaste is currently seeking to recruit a Material Handler-Totes to join the team in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Reporting to: Team Leader

This is a full-time position that requires an individual who is self-motivated, willing to learn, and has a great attitude. Logoplaste Edmonton is a 24/7 manufacturing operation with a total of 42 employees.

Hours of Work:

Hours of work will be twelve (12) hours per day, four (4) days per rotation, in accordance with the following schedule: 7am to 7pm (for two (2) days) and 7pm to 7am (for two (2) nights) followed by four (4) days off.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work to Health & Safety, Hygiene, & Housekeeping procedures within the workplace.
  • Ensure Quality standards are met, and quality issues are reported.
  • Ensure finished goods are accurately labelled and packaged in accordance with finished product procedures.
  • Ensure that product movement complies with the first in first out rotation.
  • Communicate with Lead Material Handler regarding totes required.
  • Ensure that Pallets/Totes are clean and sufficient for packaging.
  • Assemble Pallets/Totes and inspect for defects that could affect shipping/movement of products.
  • Inspect the finished product and report any defects to the Quality department or the Team Leader.
  • Communicate with Lead Material Handler regarding storage of finished product and ensure accurate placement for movement into warehouse.
  • Rework products as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
  • Perform any duties required by the management of the business.
  • Fill out all required forms completely and accurately.
  • Operate manual and powered pallet jacks.

Competencies and Qualifications:

  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work with others and give directions as required.
  • Perform routine tasks while remaining alert and flexible.
  • Must be able to problem solve, if needed.
  • Work steadily and safely in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist the team in all areas as needed.
  • Basic computer skills.

Company Benefits:

After completing 90 days of employment, employees will be eligible to register for the benefits program, which includes 90% coverage for Dental care and 100% for Extended Medical Care. Life Insurance is also included under the plan. The benefits program is 100% fully covered by Logoplaste Canada, allowing employees and eligible dependents to apply to be part of the program.

After completing 6 consecutive months with the company, employees can register for the Registered Pension Plan (optional), with the company contributing up to 4% of the employee’s contribution for the year.

Annual Discretionary Bonus:

The Company may provide an annual discretionary bonus based on individual performance objectives set by the Company and the Company’s overall profitability.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.25/hr plus an additional $1.25/hr for night shift hours.
