Job Summary

As an Associate Underwriter, you will analyze and verify loan applications, evaluate risk, and determine loan eligibility. You will ensure all documentation complies with relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  1. Review and underwrite customer loans within authority limits, escalating complex cases to leadership.
  2. Validate borrower’s willingness and ability to repay by reviewing due diligence documents.
  3. Analyze loan risk and request additional information as needed.
  4. Decide on loan eligibility and approve or reject applications.
  5. Specify loan conditions as necessary.
  6. Ensure underwriting adheres to policies, procedures, guidelines, insurer programs, and regulations.
  7. Document and communicate reasons for loan approval or rejection.
  8. Review appraisal and site inspection reports.
  9. Manage relationships with submitting agents or brokers.
  10. Set pricing and manage transaction profitability.
  11. Identify and assess AML and fraud risks.
  12. Manage pipeline and meet daily production goals.
