DESCRIPTION :
The Library at UBC’s Okanagan campus invites applications from creative, service-oriented librarians who excel at leading diverse teams and are committed to supporting transformative student learning experiences and research excellence. This is a full-time ongoing position as the Head, Teaching Partnerships and Public Services. Reporting to the Deputy University Librarian, Okanagan Campus, this position is responsible for providing intellectual and administrative leadership for their unit, contributing to the development of lasting, innovative, and responsive teaching and public services that position the Library as a vital resource for the campus and its diverse stakeholders, now and into the future.
The Head will be a member of a team responsible for the daily operational management of the UBC Okanagan Library, ensuring that services and policies meet the needs of faculty, students, and staff. The Head, representing their unit, provides input into the strategic and budgetary planning of the Library, and may act as the committee delegate of the Deputy University Librarian, as necessary.

As a manager-practitioner, the incumbent will also participate in delivering library services such as reference, teaching, faculty liaison, and collection development. The specific areas will be assigned at the discretion of the Deputy University Librarian, in consultation with the Head.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT AND SALARY :
This is a full-time, ongoing position with a five-year renewable administrative term. The initial appointment may be probationary, with review and possible confirmation after two years. The salary range is between $10,000 and $12,000 per month, corresponding to $130,000 to $154,000 annually, plus stipends and benefits. Exact salary will depend on experience and qualifications. The appointment is governed by the Collective Agreement between UBC and the UBC Faculty Association.
