Description

The DG Compliance Coordinator is highly motivated and able to work independently. This role will provide dangerous goods support to the DG Program and Regulatory Manager as well as the entire DG team. Responsibilities include following up on unbillable mistakes made by DG Specialists during discrepancy reporting, problem solving systemic input errors, communicating with customers regarding noncompliant shipments, analyzing and detailing issues, tracking noncompliant fee collection, and providing visual management analysis of inspections. The coordinator will troubleshoot and reconcile records, triage incoming requests for customer approvals, and track their status. Occasionally, involvement in onboarding customers and supporting high visibility incident reports across Canada is required. The role also involves controlling ISO documents, recording KPI results, and supporting DG team project rollouts.

Responsibilities

This role will undertake various administrative tasks supporting the dangerous goods portfolio, including :

  • Accruals at scheduled month-end dates
  • Accounts payable and creation of POs for the department
  • Distribution of documents and information to internal stakeholders
  • Quarterly Ministry of Environment Reporting for New Brunswick ECA and annual Ontario ECA
  • Reviewing, manipulating, and formatting reports from the Customer Reporting department into PDFs
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties such as account payables and cost allocations
  • Creating monthly updates and presentations
  • Assisting with onboarding / offboarding employees (ID, access, equipment, software)
  • Preparing correspondence, proofreading, maintaining files (e.g., Transport Canada Inspections, internal audits)
  • Managing deviation permits and expiry date notifications
  • Liaising with Procurement for new products and materials
  • Tracking and renewing certificates and permits
  • Scheduling support for Regional managers’ staff

Experience

  • Over 4 to 5 years of progressive administrative experience, including multitasking under time pressure

Education

  • High School diploma plus work experience, vocational, or business courses
  • Proficiency in standard computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Experience as a Dangerous Goods Specialist is an asset
