Job Description

We are currently seeking a Senior Financial Advisor to join our team.

The Senior Financial Advisor provides exceptional customer service to a portfolio of members by offering a full range of investment, deposit, and complex lending services. The Senior Financial Advisor identifies member life stage cycle and provides solutions to financial needs, and/or refers members to an appropriate advisor.

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day
  • Member Service: Builds strong relationships with current and potential members; identifies member life stage cycle and provides financial advice or refers to appropriate advisor. Manages an assigned portfolio (generally with $100,000 to $500,000 in investible assets) through proactive contact, ensuring needs are met.
  • Member Transactions: Processes complex transactions including MFDA products and services; retail mortgages; personal and RRSP loans; opening accounts; debit/credit cards; LOC/overdraft protection; and related insurance products.
  • Branch Goals: Supports achievement of branch goals through promotion of products and participation in campaigns. Seeks cross-sell and referral opportunities, achieving sales and referral targets.
  • Branch Support: Mentors staff in lending and investment products; provides advice and assists with member issues in management’s absence.
  • Other duties: Uses the Day in the Life as a guideline to prioritize tasks and deliver a consistent member experience. Performs other duties as required by branch leadership.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • College or Tech School Diploma (2 years) or equivalent experience
  • Mutual Funds License required
  • Completion of internal First West certification within the required timeframe
  • PFP certification preferred
  • 2-3 years in a Financial Advisor role or similar
  • Ability to conduct complex advisory conversations
  • Ability to recognize needs, recommend products, and build relationships
  • Track record of achieving sales targets in lending and investments
  • Self-motivated with problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and banking software
  • Understanding of risk management and policy adherence
