We are currently looking for a Windows System Administrator – Active Directory Specialist to join one of our major clients in the financial sector, based in Montreal.

Job Overview:

As a technical specialist, you will be responsible for the operational performance and continuous improvement of the Active Directory infrastructure across the Americas region. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a global environment with over 300 servers, contribute to major infrastructure upgrades, and participate in strategic security initiatives. Your responsibilities will combine support and project tasks in a collaborative, international setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Operations:

• Ensure optimal operation, maintenance, and availability of the on-prem Active Directory infrastructure.
• Administer Windows Servers and services (AD DS, DNS, DHCP, GPO, etc.) in a multi-site, enterprise environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Active Directory and server platforms.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline administrative tasks.
• Support the management of a server infrastructure comprising over 300 systems globally.

Project Involvement:

• Participate in global infrastructure projects (Active Directory upgrades, domain restructuring, hardening).
• Contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives focused on security enhancements and best practices.
• Collaborate closely with international teams on shared infrastructure initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Must-Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong expertise with on-prem Active Directory and Windows Server administration.
• Solid experience in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex AD-related issues in an enterprise environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
• Strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or working in hybrid delivery models.

Working Environment:

• Hybrid work model: 2-3 days on-site per week in downtown Montreal.
• Candidates must be in Montreal
• English fluency, French is a plus.
