About

Senior Pricing Manager - Halifax, United Kingdom

Salary: Up to £105,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Covéa Insurance offers a wide range of home, motor, and commercial insurance backed by our award-winning customer service. Our purpose is to "help protect people against the worst happening and put it right if it does". It’s the reason we are here, and it’s the task we all focus on every day.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Pricing leadership team as a Senior Pricing Manager, focusing on delivering our key strategic objectives. We’re looking for a candidate with extensive technical pricing experience who can provide subject matter expertise and leadership across the pricing team.

The role is hybrid, involving a mix of working from home and from our Halifax office.

What will I be doing?
  • Collaborating with the Head of Technical Pricing and senior stakeholders to implement modelling and rating changes that improve loss ratio, risk selection, and business growth.
  • Leading and developing a team of pricing specialists; ensuring achievement of competencies and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and agility.
  • Enhancing pricing capabilities, establishing best practices, and ensuring proper governance and controls.
  • Leveraging datasets, including broker-specific data, to improve predictive models and achieve profit and growth targets.
  • Representing Pricing in key forums as a subject matter expert, supporting and simplifying complex information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintaining expertise in Pricing and Data science tools (e.g., Willis Towers Watson Radar, SQL, Python, Databricks).
  • Keeping up with market and technological trends to innovate and optimize practices and infrastructure.
You should apply if you have...
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Expert understanding of predictive modelling and machine learning techniques applicable to rating motor and home products.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity, with problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation, leadership, and management skills, with efficiency under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Project management skills are advantageous.
  • Minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a numerical subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing learning in analytical techniques, data science, AI, and related technologies.

We welcome applicants who may not meet all criteria but are interested in the role, as we value diversity and inclusion.

What’s on offer?
  • 36.25 hours per week with flexible options.
  • Annual pay review and a 12.5% performance bonus.
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with holiday buy/sell options.
  • Generous pension scheme with employer contributions up to 9%.
  • Health benefits including Private Medical Insurance, health assessments, and Virtual GP access.
  • Tusker Car Scheme for fully maintained and insured cars.
  • Support for mental, financial, and physical wellbeing.
  • Professional development through training, qualifications, and apprenticeships.
  • Additional benefits like gym discounts, cycle schemes, and retail discounts.
