What You’ll Be Doing

As part of the Structured Equity Finance (SEF) team, you’ll contribute to managing and monitoring the performance of the Equity Margin Loan and Private Capital NAV Financing portfolio. As an Associate Portfolio Management Specialist, you’ll support the Executive Director by ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and proactive credit risk management for SEF’s loan, trading, and collateral portfolio. You’ll participate in the execution of syndicated transactions, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve seamless results. You’ll also contribute to collateral monitoring by preparing detailed reports, reconciling discrepancies across systems, and escalating concerns when needed. Your role will require attention to detail, an analytical mindset, and strong communication skills to succeed in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Portfolio Oversight and Credit Risk Management - You’ll contribute to the active ongoing management of the SEF portfolio by analyzing credit migration trends, conducting annual credit reviews, and preparing quarterly portfolio and collateral reviews. You’ll track compliance with financial covenants, process amendment and waiver requests, and respond to ad hoc internal requests regarding portfolio composition and exposure. You’ll also participate in proactive credit monitoring by reviewing covenanted financial and transaction information and assessing market developments to manage their potential impact on the portfolio

  • Collateral Monitoring and Reporting - You’ll monitor the performance of collateral for active deals, ensuring compliance with loan-to-value (LTV) requirements and other risk metrics. You’ll prepare detailed reports for business and risk teams, highlighting trends, key insights, and actionable recommendations. You’ll reconcile discrepancies across systems to improve data consistency and escalate concerns related to collateral performance or risk indicators to appropriate stakeholders.

  • Operational Excellence - You’ll ensure accurate processing of transactions and updates within internal systems while adhering to organizational policies and procedures. You’ll stay informed on operating protocols (e.g., Risk, Legal) to ensure compliance and support the execution of amendments, refinancing and new transactions, as required.

  • Syndicated Transactions - You’ll coordinate the review and validation of compliance certificates and cash flow sweep/required amortization calculations prior to distribution to lenders. You’ll liaise with stakeholders, including clients and other lenders, to address questions related to collateral values, calculations, and required amortization. You’ll also collaborate with Agency Services to post calculations and updates to deal websites for lender groups and respond to inquiries from syndicate members regarding collateral and cash flow sweep calculations.

Who You Are

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or Economics. Advanced certifications like CFA or CPA are an asset.

  • You give meaning to data. You excel at analyzing trends, identifying risks, and providing actionable insights to support portfolio management. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information, and you communicate detailed findings in a meaningful way to drive decision-making.

  • You can demonstrate experience in analyzing and interpreting financial statements, cash flow metrics, and leverage ratios. It’s an asset if you have experience with Margin Loans and NAV based lending.

  • You’re motivated by collective success and thrive in a team environment.
