The Opportunity

We're seeking a Senior Corrosion Engineer with strong technical skills and a service-oriented approach. You will collaborate closely with our Corrosion Program Manager and field teams, leading assessments, developing solutions, and supporting clients in building sustainable, prevention-focused maintenance programs. This role involves site work, practical problem-solving, and professional communication with stakeholders at all levels.

What You’ll Do

  1. Lead corrosion audits, inspections, and risk assessments in the field.
  2. Analyze corrosion data and asset conditions to identify root causes and solutions.
  3. Support coating and material selection reviews, specifications, and QA/QC processes.
  4. Contribute to cathodic protection design, testing, and maintenance strategies.
  5. Produce high-quality technical reports and present findings to clients.
  6. Participate in project planning, proposal writing, and technical outreach.
  7. Act as a trusted technical partner by coaching client teams, building stakeholder relationships, and promoting program adoption.
  8. Engage in failure analysis and design reviews related to asset degradation.
  9. Collaborate internally and with clients to advance proactive corrosion management based on asset lifecycle.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Materials or Chemical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in corrosion, coatings, NDT, or inspection.
  • Field experience and comfort working onsite in operational environments.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; approachable, respectful, and trustworthy.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate technical insights into clear reports and presentations.
  • Humility and professionalism in handling objections.
  • Fluency in English; conversational French preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada (citizen or permanent resident).

Home base is at the client premises in Ottawa, with a minimum of 3 days/week in the office. Occasional travel to Toronto for meetings may be required. The base salary starts at $90,000, with a 10% discretionary bonus based on performance.
