Title: Associate, Wealth Management/Private Client Advisors (PCA)

Location: Edmonton, Alberta

Description:

Our client is one of Canada's leading professional services firms who provide audit, tax, consulting and financial advisory services to Canadian and international companies through their exceptional team of accounting professionals.

As an associate with the Private Client Advisors (PCA) group, you will work directly with Manager and Senior managers in becoming a tax expert, consulting in one of several highly specialized areas. You'll be part of a team delivering a full range of integrated solutions to a wide range of clients - from individual taxpayers to large corporations, across all sectors of the economy, in all regions of the country, and internationally.

This is an intermediated position, designed for aspiring tax professionals eager to gain experience with:

  • Canadian & International estate and trust planning
  • Succession and divestiture planning for the owner/manager
  • Planning for private corporations with active businesses or investments
  • Compensation and benefits planning for employers
  • Personal income tax planning, compliance, and CCRA advocacy

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • A desire to specialize in taxation of executive compensation, including retirement, deferral and incentive programs and employee benefits
  • Completion or near completion of at least one of the following professional designations: CA, CMA, CGA or law degree
  • Excellent research, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret legislation and legal documents
  • Enjoys working with clients and is interested in assisting with business development and growing the practice
  • Self starter but able to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Completion or willingness to enroll with In-Depth Tax program
