Job summary

Rogers Communications, Inc. is seeking an EA & Spectrum Auction Coordinator to provide senior administrative support to the SVP, Technology Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships. You will coordinate spectrum assignments, manage calendars and travel, and assist with budgets, invoicing, and project coordination for spectrum auctions.

The role requires independent work, strong communication, and proficiency with MS Office and Microsoft Project, in a Toronto-based, on-site capacity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in spectrum coordination or RF planning.
  • 2+ years of experience in executive or administrative support.
  • Experience with project management and coordinating complex projects.
  • Familiarity with spectrum management tools and regulatory frameworks.
  • Depth and breadth of administrative experience supporting senior management.

Who we're looking for:

We are looking for a talented individual to join the Technology team supporting the SVP, Technology Strategy, Innovation & Partnerships where you will have a chance to grow and add value to the Technology team.

The ideal candidate for this role will be required to work independently to provide advanced, highly diversified, confidential executive and administrative assistance to the SVP, while exercising initiative and judgment on a regular basis. The position also addresses the periodic requirements related to the project coordination of the Government of Canada radio spectrum auctions, including both internal and external teams, the position requires strong coordination, project management and financial administration skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide a wide variety of senior administrative support.
  • Coordinate frequency assignments and ensure compliance with National and international spectrum regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint to compose correspondence, reports and presentations as required. Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Provide executive administrative support to the SVP and other executives and the SVPs , direct reports (as may be necessary), including calendar management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination, invoicing, budget tracking.
  • Project coordination of spectrum auctions related to internal and external resources, meeting, financial and human resources tracking (including requirements such as work permits, budgets and expense tracking (both internal and external), supplier ordering and tracking (via Rogers’ procurement) assistance with logistics before, during and after auctions are run.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, presentations and other documents as required.
  • Proactively deal with ambiguity and handle changing and competing priorities (e.g., providing assistance on ad-hoc business requests).
  • Coordinate with external clients for meetings, calls and special events.
  • Maintain departmental daily operational workflow, including coordinating responses to both internal and external inquiries/requests.
  • Handle highly sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Miscellaneous department purchases and orders including general office needs.
  • Management support of financials, invoicing and budgets.
  • Management of timekeeper, vacations and other related needs.

What you bring:

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team and cross-functional matrix environment with resources that are not direct reports and in an environment that is always shifting and often unstructured.
  • A high level of attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-up.
  • You are comfortable and trustworthy in handling confidential information and complex situations.
  • You are comfortable with technology and working in a technology focused team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in spectrum coordination or RF planning.
  • 2+ years of experience in executive or administrative support.
  • Experience with project management and/or experience in coordinating complex projects.
  • Familiarity with spectrum management tools and regulatory frameworks.
  • Depth and breadth of administrative or business-related experience supporting senior management executives.
  • Demonstrated advanced technical competence with MS Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and e-mail in order to create effective presentations, documents and spreadsheets. Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Willing to work flexible hours to meet challenging and changing deadlines.
