We are seeking an Educational Assistant in the Sidney area for the 2025-2026 school year

Job Title: Education Assistant – Level 1 (Student Personal Care)

Location: Sidney, BC

Position Type: Part-time and Flexible (In-Class & In-Home Opportunities)

School Year: 2025–2026

Remuneration: $27.00 – $29.44 per hour

Position Overview

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Education Assistants to join our team in Sidney area for the 2025–2026 school year. These positions involve supporting Level 1 students with personal care needs through flexible in-home learning support (up to 10 hours per week).

The role primarily focuses on assisting students with daily care tasks to help them access learning opportunities comfortably and safely. You will work under the supervision of educational staff and collaborate with therapists, parents, and special education professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
  • Support students with therapy follow-up activities, virtual programming, and home-based learning.
  • Carry out pre-planned academic and life skills lessons designed to meet each student's unique needs.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, the Special Education Coordinator, and parents.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow health and safety protocols.
  • Uphold student dignity, confidentiality, and Christian values in every interaction.

IN-HOME OPPORTUNITY

  • Education Assistant certification or equivalent experience is highly valued.
