A day in the life of a Meat Production Specialist :

You will interact directly with customers, answering questions on grilling, nutrition, and more. Our highly skilled Meat Clerks are trained to prepare outstanding quality selections that have built Safeway's reputation. Join our team to offer customers some of our best-selling products.

Job Description

Experience :

• Preference given to candidates with previous Meat or Seafood experience
• Safeway-specific training will be provided

Key Responsibilities :

• Uphold and comply with company procedures, standards, and policies
• Greet customers politely and friendly
• Maintain and build merchandise displays per Safeway programs
• Order writing, receiving, and rotating products
• Filling meat and seafood counters and showcases
• Use of hand wrapper and scale
• Price meats and seafood
• Clean and sanitize work areas
• Work with raw and cooked seafood

• Ability to learn quickly

• Work safely and responsibly

• Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Availability on Sundays (Alberta only)

Physical Requirements :

• Constant lifting of up to 20 pounds
• Occasional lifting of 20-50 pounds
• Frequent standing, bending, walking, twisting, carrying, pushing, or pulling
• Occasional exposure to cold temperatures
