Job description

As a Starbucks Shift Supervisor, you will assist the store manager in executing store operations during scheduled shifts. As a team lead, you will deploy partners and delegate tasks to create the Starbucks Experience for our customers by providing legendary customer service with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. You will be responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles. Additionally, you’ll be part of a company that is consistently rated as a great place to work, and the people here love what they do.

Summary Of Key Responsibilities
  1. Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promote the culture, values, and mission of Starbucks.
  2. Maintain a calm demeanor during high volume periods or unusual events to ensure store standards are met and to set a positive example for the team.
  3. Evaluate the environment and customer cues to anticipate needs.
  4. Communicate relevant information to the manager to respond effectively and create the Third Place environment each shift.
  5. Assist with new partner training, reinforcing successful performance and providing respectful coaching.
  6. Provide feedback to the store manager on partner performance during the shift.
  7. Contribute to a positive team environment by recognizing changes in partner morale or performance and communicating them appropriately.
  8. Create a positive learning environment through clear, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback.
  9. Deliver legendary customer service by acting with a customer-first attitude and connecting with customers.
  10. Discover and respond to customer needs effectively.
  11. Develop positive relationships with the shift team, understanding individual motivations and concerns.
  12. Execute store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing duties as assigned.
  13. Follow Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including cash handling and safety/security protocols.
  14. Ensure proper cash management practices are followed by the shift team.
  15. Follow up with baristas during the shift to ensure delivery of excellent customer service.
  16. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
  17. Provide consistent quality beverages, whole beans, and food products, adhering to recipe and presentation standards.
  18. Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products.
  19. Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments using organizational tools and collaborate with the store manager on new recognition methods.
  20. Utilize operational tools to achieve excellence during the shift.
