Location : Remote (Candidates based in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia or willing to relocate)

Description :

WES is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support the FP&A function. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the FP&A Manager to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and provide insights for strategic decision-making. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, a strong understanding of financial modeling, and excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with departments to gather and analyze data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Use SQL to extract and analyze data from various databases.
• Support quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes.
• Prepare budgets in collaboration with other departments; analyze actual results versus budgets and monitor variances.
• Develop, maintain, and improve financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Assist in new product development through detailed financial analysis and ROI assessments.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best practices in financial planning and analysis.
• Automate financial reports to increase productivity; coordinate information requirements.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

Requirements :

• Minimum 3 years of experience in financial or data analysis roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced financial modeling and data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis.
• Experience with financial planning software and ERP systems (e.g., Vena, Sage, SAP) is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or related fields.
• Post-graduate degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
• Knowledge of Tableau or similar data visualization tools is a plus.
• Passion for working in a value-driven, mission-focused organization.
• Ability to present options clearly to senior management, with effective influence skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for process improvement.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Expertise in financial planning, modeling, cost accounting, ROI, and statistical analysis.
• Ability to synthesize information, develop insights, and communicate recommendations clearly (verbally and in writing).
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic, responsibility, and accountability.
