Our client is currently seeking QC inspectors for contract positions in Saskatchewan, starting in June 2025. The role requires the inspector to be an independent contractor (IC), not a full-time employee. The work involves intermittent inspections with a flexible schedule based on client requests.

Scope of Work

Inspection activities include repairs, alterations, installation, and periodic inspections of pressure equipment as mandated by Saskatchewan Boiler & Pressure Vessel Act & Regulations and CSA-B51. • Periodic inspections
  • Issuance of inspection certificates and reports for pressure equipment
  • Oversight of code repairs by maintenance contractors or the client

The services will cover equipment such as steam generators (boilers), pressure vessels, pressure piping, and other equipment as determined by the client, beyond the jurisdiction of Saskatchewan's Boilers and Pressure Vessels Act & Regulations. The inspector must oversee and ensure compliance with the client’s QMS & QCP to meet quality assurance standards.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements (ASME Codes, Saskatchewan Act, NBIC, CSA B51, QMS, QCP, etc.)
  • Lead QA requirements during overhaul and outages
  • Report near misses and perform pressure equipment inspections
  • Review and approve repairs and alterations
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and certificates
  • Support non-routine repair procedures and supervise subordinate staff as needed
  • Investigate non-conformances and ensure corrective actions

  • Knowledge of Saskatchewan pressure equipment regulations, CSA B51, and ASME Codes
  • Experience in pressure vessel and piping construction or repair
  • Flexible work schedule, including potential 10-13 hour days, with shifts up to 12 days on/2 days off or 18 days on/3 off
  • Hourly rate of $85-$90; per diem of $150/day for inspections beyond 200 km from residence
