Job Summary

The Manager, Marketing and Activations, plays a key role in creating memorable fan experiences at Ottawa Black Bears games and events in the Ottawa region.

Main responsibilities include conceptualizing, supporting, and executing game themes, marketing initiatives, development camps, and giveaways.

The successful candidate will have a can-do attitude and a passion for creating meaningful moments for fans and guests at Canadian Tire Centre. This role requires attendance at all home game days and events outside standard business hours.

Main Responsibilities

Activations Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a calendar of all Ottawa Black Bears home games, fan events, and youth clinics.
• Plan and execute fan activations such as autograph sessions and meet-the-team events.
• Create workback schedules with key milestones and deliverables.
• Lead development of game themes to entertain diverse fans.
• Support team efforts and adapt as needed.

Marketing Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advertising plans for initiatives using media outlets.
• Manage fan email communications, including newsletters and game day emails.
• Source and secure giveaway and promotional inventory.
• Create event collateral for internal use.
• Manage budgets and timelines effectively.
• Prepare creative briefs for the creative team and stakeholders.
• Support high-impact marketing initiatives to grow the fan base.

Qualifications

• Degree in sports marketing or related field; game day experience is a plus.
• 3-5 years experience in marketing or events, or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Passion for sports and entertainment.
• Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
