Reporting to the Senior Manager, Building Automation & Operations, the incumbent is responsible for developing BAS surveillance schedules and objectives, tracking & reporting on BAS surveillance performance, working with the Senior Manager and the Building Operations teams to develop an alarm management strategy and reporting, and directing the BAS Analysts in reviewing and interpreting BAS data and trends related to HVAC control issues. The role involves providing technical expertise on BAS controls, devices, and control sequences, troubleshooting, and making recommendations for system improvements. The incumbent is primarily responsible for Building Automation Systems (BAS) Control Room operations and setup qualifications.
The role also ensures safety management of automated equipment and occupancy systems, participates in campus sustainability efforts, and provides technical consultation on building automation standards, design, installation, and commissioning. Interaction with operations staff and management, as well as participation in system reviews and project commissioning, are key responsibilities, adhering to Professional Engineering Ontario rules and departmental policies.
Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Candidates must hold an Ontario P.Eng. license and be in good standing.
