Ford Motor Company Communications Manager in Oakville, Ontario

Job type: Contract 14 months

As a Ford of Canada Communications team member, the Manager will contribute to Ford's transformation and the company's future vision.

This position is project-oriented and challenges you to demonstrate strong writing skills, strategic thinking, business acumen and technical skills. Assignment areas for Managers include:

  1. Electric vehicle communications
  2. Mustang
  3. Ford Performance
  4. Software & Integrated Services
  5. Enterprise Storytelling

Responsibilities include planning, implementation and management of all media outreach, events, and supporting materials in the areas of electric vehicles, Mustang, Ford Performance, Software & Integrated Services communication. You will also support key areas with agency Grassroots Communications teams to extend the Ford business and product story, and provide communications support to other company functions, including Marketing/Sales, Social Media, Government Affairs, Dealers and Manufacturing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or Post-Graduate education in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Media Studies/Media Relations (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Communications

  4. Strong writing, reporting and verbal communications skills
  5. News reporting or editing experience
  6. Ability to develop innovative approaches to engage audiences

  8. Bilingual (English/French) is an asset
