A leading education agency in the Northwest Territories is seeking dedicated teachers for various positions from August 2025 to June 2026. Candidates will support diverse learners, promote literacy, and engage in ongoing professional development. Ideal applicants will have a strong commitment to community and cross-cultural experience, aligning with Tlicho values.
Positions are anticipated in all Tlicho Communities: Behchoko, Whati, Gameti, and Wekweeti. Generous relocation and Northern Allowances are available. The Tlicho Community Services Agency seeks positive, committed educators willing to embrace four key priorities in Tlicho schools and classrooms: literacy/reading; health, wellness & student support; culture-based education; and the development of 21st-century learners and critical thinkers.
Elementary, junior high, and senior high teachers are required for generalist multi-grade or single-grade, all subject areas as directed by the school principal. Support positions such as literacy coaches and program support teachers may also be available. Positions are term-based from August 2025 to June 2026.
The ideal candidate will promote self-regulation, culture-based education, and inquiry-based learning. All classrooms are inclusive, serving students of varying ability levels; experience in providing individualized support and differentiated instruction is essential. The regional focus on literacy requires applicants to incorporate literacy strategies across all subjects.
Applicants should have cross-cultural experience, a strong community commitment, and be adaptable to the Tlicho way of life outside school. The agency values ongoing professional development and expects active participation in Professional Learning Communities to enhance instructional practices and student learning outcomes.
Applications should be submitted via the GNWT job site at jobstlicho@gov.nt.ca and/or by email to Dianne_Lafferty@edutlicho.net.
