Video Monitoring Operator

Security Operations Centre - Divisional Office - Victoria-HQ - 928 Cloverdale - Victoria

Shifts:
  • Friday 16:00 - 00:00
  • Saturday 16:00 - 00:00
  • Tuesday 00:00 - 08:00
  • Wednesday 00:00 - 08:00
Reports to:

Live Video Monitoring Team Leader, Client Service Manager

Wage:

$23.25 per hour. Advancement to $25.25 once experience threshold met. Plus RSP

As a Video Monitoring Operator, you'll:
  • Be the first line of defense, responding to intrusion alarms promptly using our Video Management Software (VMS) and established procedures
  • Deliver audio warnings to intruders; preventing crime before it takes place
  • Keep records of alarm events and actions taken in our monitoring software, ensuring clarity and accuracy
  • Dispatch calls accurately and promptly to emergency contacts as specified by our clients
  • Verify customer hardware functionality using VMS and report issues to management
  • Perform other related duties as needed, offering variety and growth opportunities
Required Qualifications:
  • Available to work flexible shifts (evening, overnight, weekends, holidays)
  • Available to work on a rotating schedule
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken; multilingual skills are an asset
  • Excellent written communication and professional phone manner
  • Strong customer service skills, with conflict resolution abilities
  • Experience in security industry is an asset
  • Critical thinking, self-motivation, and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong computer skills; ability to learn new software quickly
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, Excel, Word is an asset
  • Punctuality
  • Willing to complete Basic Security Training (BST)
  • Pass a criminal background check and obtain a BC Guard License
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Ability to obtain a Federal Security Clearance
