Job Details
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer medications in the patient's home, specialty clinics, and Physician Partnership clinic settings.
- Assess and monitor pre and post-injection/infusion treatments as directed by program protocols.
- Complete necessary documentation based on policies and procedures, and as directed by the College of Nurses and Innomar ISO accreditation standards of practice.
- Provide patient and caregiver education based on product monographs and program protocols, individually or in groups.
- Report adverse events, serious adverse events, and product complaints in accordance with Innomar training and policies & procedures.
- Ensure reliable availability based on the employment agreement to meet the needs of the IBU and the Nursing and clinics KPIs.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including case managers, physicians, pharmacy, scheduling, and other departments to meet timelines for appointments and treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers to set up appointments and coordinate drug delivery to home and clinic.
- Participate in team web-based meetings and training sessions to maintain and enhance professional standards.
- Participate in specialized client-related training as required.
- Adhere to professional nursing standards as prescribed by professional associations and Innomar.
- Work collaboratively within a healthcare team, providing oversight and delegation of tasks to RPN/LPN as authorized by provincial nursing regulations.
- Travel within designated IBUs to meet operational needs.
- Follow all nursing and clinic standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Comply with all health and safety standards as per provincial regulations.
- Complete ongoing and annual education and training within specified timeframes.
- Perform other related duties as required by Innomar.
- May be required to be on standby or on call to meet service needs.
Experience and Educational Requirements
- Relevant experience as a Registered Nurse required.
- At least 1 year of IV initiation experience.
- Current registration with a licensing body; CPR certification.
- Experience in critical care, emergency, acute care inpatient/outpatient, or homecare settings.
- ACLS, PALS, MS, and CVAA certifications, and central venous line/port experience are assets.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, Word, and other computer programs.
- Access to internet and cell phone for communication and appointment coordination.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel within the designated geographical area.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry is an asset.
- Business and financial acumen is an asset.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective presentation and self-directed work skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Valid, non-expired driver's license and insurance coverage.
The successful candidate may interact daily with English-speaking customers, patients, or peers from cross-functional teams.
